COPPICE OF CONSCIOUSNESS
The "Coppice of Consciousness" is a metaphor, in part suggested by neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp, that coalesces contemporary brain research into a new image of the brain, consciousness, and the role of emotion in cognition. Brad presented this paper in October 2009 to the combined mid-year session of the Elder Law and Family Law sections of the Washington State Bar Association, which convened in Everett, Washington.
